Archibald Cullen

The Rt Rev Archibald Howard Cullen[1] was the 6th Bishop of Grahamstown.[2] He was born on 24 September 1887 and educated at Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys[3] and Queens' College, Cambridge. Ordained in 1916,[4] his first post was a curacy in Coalbrookdale. He was then a temporary Chaplain to the Forces.[5] When peace returned he became Chaplain and Lecturer of Wells Theological College and then Vice-Principal of Leeds Clergy School. In 1926 he became Warden of St Paul’s Theological College, Grahamstown until his elevation to the Episcopate[6] in 1931. He died on 16 June 1968.[7]
